1. Who these terms are with

rinseandrail.com is operated by Fathom & Foundry. Using the site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. What this site is

Rinse & Rail publishes editorial buying guides for bathroom products. The content is general information and opinion based on manufacturers’ published specifications. It is not professional advice.

Specifically, and this matters more here than on most sites:

• It is not plumbing or electrical advice for your home. We publish what manufacturers publish. We have not seen your bathroom, your pipework or your wiring, and we cannot tell you whether a particular product is safe or suitable in it.
• It is not medical advice. Several of the most-searched questions in the bidet category are medical. We do not answer them in our own voice, and nothing here should be treated as a health recommendation.
• It is not legal advice. Our Renter-Safe Install Ratings describe whether a product is physically reversible without trace. They say nothing about what your specific lease permits, and we have not read it.

3. Accuracy, and its limits

We take accuracy seriously. Every specification is traced to a manufacturer’s published source and linked, prices are verified against a live check and date-stamped, and the method is set out at how we research.

We nevertheless cannot warrant that everything here is correct or current. Manufacturers change specifications, discontinue products and revise documentation without telling us. Prices change constantly. Before buying or installing anything, check the manufacturer’s current documentation and the retailer’s current listing.

If you find an error, tell us — that is genuinely the most useful message this site receives.

4. Installation is at your own risk

This site describes installation procedures published by manufacturers. Following them is your decision and your responsibility.

Water and electricity are the two things in a house most capable of causing expensive damage. If you are not confident, employ someone who is. Nothing on this site should be read as encouragement to attempt work beyond your competence, and we accept no liability for damage or injury arising from work you carry out.

Two specific points we repeat throughout the site: never run an extension lead into a bathroom to make an appliance reach an outlet, and never use an adhesive or suction fitting for a grab bar or any other safety device.

5. Affiliate links

This site contains affiliate links. If you buy through one we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. The full accounting — which networks we belong to, what commission does and does not affect — is on the affiliate disclosure page.

We are not the seller. Your purchase contract is with the retailer, and their terms govern pricing, delivery, returns and warranty. We cannot resolve an order problem for you.

6. Third-party links

We link to manufacturers, standards bodies, government datasets and retailers because that is where the evidence is. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.

7. Intellectual property

The written content, structure, the Renter-Safe Install Rating system and the running-cost analyses on this site belong to Fathom & Foundry, except where quoted from manufacturers’ published material with attribution.

You may quote short passages with a clear credit and a link. You may not republish pages or substantial extracts, and you may not use this content to train a model in a way that reproduces it without attribution. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners and appear here for identification only.

8. Reader submissions

If you send us a correction or other message, you give us permission to act on it — including publishing a corrected figure on the site. We will not publish your name or email address without asking you first.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fathom & Foundry is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on its content, including any purchase you make through a link here. The site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Changes

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.
