What an attachment actually is
A bidet attachment is a thin plastic plate that sits between your toilet bowl and the seat you already have. The existing seat bolts back down through it, so nothing is replaced.
Water comes from the toilet’s own fill line. A T-valve goes in at the bottom of the tank where the supply hose currently connects, and a second hose runs from the T to the attachment. That is the whole plumbing job, it needs no electricity, and it is why this category is genuinely a ten-minute purchase rather than a project.
Brondell publishes the important detail about where the T-valve goes: at the fill valve under the toilet tank, not at the cold water supply coming from the wall. Getting that wrong is the most common install mistake in the category.
The three specifications that matter, and which brands publish them
Profile height. This is how much taller your seat becomes, and it is the thing people notice daily. Brondell publishes 0.2 inches for the Thinline; Bio Bidet publishes 3.4 inches for the SlimEdge. That is not a rounding difference — it is the difference between not noticing and perching.
Nozzle count and behavior. One nozzle does a rear wash. Two add a separate front wash. Every attachment here publishes a self-cleaning cycle and a retracting nozzle behind a guard, which is the standard the category has settled on and is worth insisting on.
Fitting quality. The T-valve and hose are the parts under permanent water pressure. Brondell is the only maker here that publishes materials for them — “braided metal hose and all-metal T-Valve” — and that disclosure is worth something on a component that fails wet.
Warm water: the three routes, and their real costs
Cold only. Most attachments. Free, simple, and genuinely bracing in winter. Most people report adjusting within a week; some never do.
Mixed from the basin’s hot supply. The LUXE NEO 320’s approach. No electricity, warm water, and a second connection under the sink. It is the best answer for a bathroom with no outlet, and the reason that model is rated Ask first rather than Safe.

How to check yours will fit before you buy
Three checks, all free, all worth doing.
Is it a two-piece toilet? Attachments assume a separate tank sitting on the bowl, because that is where the T-valve goes. One-piece and wall-hung toilets vary and are worth checking against the manufacturer’s own fit guide.
Does the shut-off valve turn? Reach behind the toilet and try it now. A seized valve is the single thing most likely to turn a ten-minute job into an evening, and you would much rather discover it before the parcel arrives.
Round or elongated? Most attachments publish a fit for both — TUSHY publishes 95% of toilets, Bio Bidet publishes round and elongated — but the seat you are keeping has to sit down properly on top of the plate.

Cold water only. In an unheated bathroom in January, that is a genuine shock and no amount of marketing language about freshness changes it.
What we can’t tell you

Brondell SimpleSpa Thinline Essential Bidet Attachment

A 0.2-inch profile with an all-metal T-valve and braided hose — the fittings you actually want, in a plate you barely notice.
The SimpleSpa Thinline is the least obtrusive attachment here. Brondell publishes a “0.2 inches” profile at 0.6 lbs, which matters more than it sounds: a thick attachment lifts the seat noticeably and changes how the toilet feels to sit on.
The specification we like most is the plumbing. Brondell publishes a “braided metal hose and all-metal T-Valve”, and those are exactly the two parts you do not want made of plastic. A T-valve is a permanently pressurized joint on your toilet’s supply; metal is the right material for it.
The nozzle is angled, retractable, with “on-demand, self-cleaning” and a hygienic guard, powered “by water pressure alone, no batteries or electricity required”.

This is the trick that solves the biggest problem in the category. Most people who want warm water assume they need an electric seat and an outlet; the NEO 320 gets there by running a second hose to the hot supply under the basin and mixing, with a temperature control knob on the unit.
LUXE publishes dual retractable wash nozzles, a rear wash, a feminine wash and a nozzle clean mode, plus a pressure lever and an “innovative self-cleaning sanitary nozzle”. The install is published as three steps — take the seat off, sit the NEO on the toilet, attach the T-adapter and hose — with “no plumbing experience or electricity required”.

What’s wrong with it
The hot line is a second install in a second location, and it constrains where the toilet is relative to the basin. In a bathroom where they are far apart, this gets awkward fast.

If you are not sure whether you want a bidet at all, this is the cheapest way to find out without committing to anything. LUXE publishes a “fresh water mechanical bidet attachment” with a “single wash nozzle” that “extends below the guard gate and after use, the nozzle retracts into its housing”, and “no electricity required”.
One nozzle means one wash function. For most people, most of the time, that is what an attachment gets used for anyway — and if you decide you want dual nozzles or warm water later, you have spent very little finding out.

Dual nozzles and a one-year warranty, and no published answer to the most basic question in the category: is the water warm or cold?
This is not a claim that the SlimEdge is a bad product. It may well be good. The problem is that Bio Bidet does not publish enough about it for us to tell you, and we are not in the business of filling those gaps with guesses.
Here is what the product page does publish: dimensions of “W 17in x L 7.28in x H 3.4in”, a “dual nozzle” system, that it fits “Round and Elongated toilets”, that “No Batteries or Electricity Required”, and a one-year limited warranty.
Here is what it does not publish: the water temperature. The nozzle material. What is in the box. What tools you need. How long it takes to fit. Every one of those is on TUSHY’s page and most are on Brondell’s, at similar money.
At 3.4 inches high it is also the thickest attachment here by a wide margin — more than sixteen times the published profile of Brondell’s Thinline — which is an odd specification for something with “slim” in the name.
