Brookstone towel warmer review

The largest bucket we rank, at one of the lowest prices, from the brand with the thinnest spec sheet. Here is exactly what that trade costs you.

By Sawyer V. · · How we research

A rolled towel and a small card arranged on a pale surface

The short answer

Buy it for capacity, not for specification. Brookstone publishes 23 liters — the largest bucket we rank — with three timer settings, auto shut-off, an LED display and four detachable hooks. What it does not publish is rated power, maximum temperature, dimensions or a warranty term, so it cannot be costed to run or compared on heat. If those matter, the Zadro TWB01 publishes 480 W and a four-step timer; the VEVOR 20 L publishes a child lock and a 140°F overheat light.

We earn a commission if you buy through the links on this page, at no extra cost to you. It does not change which products we pick or what we say about them — here is exactly how that works.

Who should buy the Brookstone

Buy it if capacity is the binding constraint — two people getting out of a bath or a hot tub at the same time, or a household that uses bath sheets rather than bath towels. At 23 liters it is the largest we rank, and the four detachable hooks are a real convenience.

Buy it also if you simply want the cheapest route to a hot towel. That is a legitimate reason, and this is usually it.

Who should not

Anyone who wants to know what it costs to run. Without a rated power figure there is no sum to do. A 480 W bucket run for 30 minutes a day is a few dollars a year; an unspecified one is a guess, and we do not publish guesses. How running costs are worked out is here.

Anyone with small children. VEVOR publishes a child lock and an overheat warning light; Brookstone publishes neither. That is the single strongest reason to spend elsewhere. What to check on towel warmer safety is here.

Anyone fitting it into a measured space. No published dimensions means no way to check the corner before it arrives.

A note on the two brand names

Brookstone sells this as the Luxury Towel Warmer Bucket with LED Display by Pursonic, and the Amazon listing uses the Pursonic name. Searching for “Brookstone towel warmer” and finding a Pursonic box is not a counterfeit or a substitution — it is the same product, and the Brookstone page is the one that publishes the specifications quoted above.

What we have not done

We have not used this towel warmer, heated a towel in it, or measured anything about it. This is a read of what Brookstone publishes against what its competitors publish, which is a genuinely useful comparison and a strictly limited one. Where a figure is missing, this page says it is missing rather than estimating it. The price is read live and dated.

Brookstone (by Pursonic) Brookstone Luxury Towel Warmer Bucket with LED Display

1. Most capacity per dollar

Brookstone Luxury Towel Warmer Bucket with LED Display

Brookstone (by Pursonic) · Luxury Towel Warmer Bucket · best for a household wanting two warm towels at once without paying rack money

23 liters with three timer settings, auto shut-off, an LED display and four detachable hooks — the biggest bucket we rank.

The Brookstone bucket is sold under two names: Brookstone publishes it as the Luxury Towel Warmer Bucket by Pursonic, and the Amazon listing carries the Pursonic brand. It is one product, and that is worth knowing before you worry that you are looking at the wrong thing.

Brookstone publishes 23 liters of capacity, which is the headline and the reason to buy it. A 20-liter bucket takes one large towel comfortably; three extra liters is the difference between one bath sheet and two bath towels. Alongside that it publishes “3 Timer Settings with Auto Shut Off”, a “Built-In LED Display” and “4 Detachable Hooks”.

The hooks are a genuinely practical touch that the other buckets do not publish — they turn the lid area into somewhere to hang a robe while the towels heat.

What’s wrong with it

Four specifications that competitors publish are absent here: rated power, maximum temperature, dimensions and warranty term.

What we can’t tell you

Without a rated power figure the running cost cannot be calculated, and without a maximum temperature there is no way to compare how hot it actually gets.

Zadro Zadro 20-Liter Towel Warmer Bucket

2. Buy this instead for specification

Zadro 20-Liter Towel Warmer Bucket

Zadro · TWB01 · best for anyone who wants to know what the appliance draws and how hot it gets

20 liters at a published 480 W maximum, with a four-step 15/30/45/60-minute timer and published dimensions and weight.

The Zadro TWB01 is three liters smaller and publishes considerably more. Zadro gives a maximum 480 W on 120 V AC, a timer “set… to 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes”, dimensions of 21.25 inches high by 12 in diameter, a weight of 8.5 lbs and an 83-inch cord.

A rated power figure is what lets you work out what an appliance costs to run, and published dimensions are what let you check it fits the corner you had in mind. Both are missing from the Brookstone, and both are the sort of thing people only miss after the box is open. Zadro against VEVOR is compared in full here.

Zadro still does not publish a heat-up time or a maximum temperature, so this is a better spec sheet rather than a complete one.

VEVOR VEVOR 20-Liter Towel Warmer Bucket

3. Buy this instead for safety features

VEVOR 20-Liter Towel Warmer Bucket

VEVOR · 20L with LED display and security lock · best for a house with children, or anyone who wants a delay-start timer

20 L with a published child lock, 24-hour delay start, ETL and FCC certification, and an overheat light that reddens above 140°F.

The VEVOR 20 L publishes the safety detail the other two do not. It lists a “Child Lock”, an “Auto shut-off function” and a “U-shaped overheat light (red when over 60°C/140°F)”, plus “ETL & FCC-certified” status.

It also publishes a “24-Hour Reservation, 30-Minute Increment” delay start, which neither of the others offers — useful if you want warm towels waiting at a fixed time rather than starting the timer yourself.

Like the Brookstone it does not publish a rated power figure, so it shares that gap.

Questions people actually ask

is the brookstone towel warmer any good

It is the largest bucket we rank at 23 liters, with three timer settings, auto shut-off, an LED display and four detachable hooks. The catch is the spec sheet: Brookstone publishes no rated power, maximum temperature, dimensions or warranty term.

why is the brookstone towel warmer sold as pursonic

Brookstone publishes it as the Luxury Towel Warmer Bucket with LED Display by Pursonic, and the Amazon listing carries the Pursonic brand. It is one product under two names, not a substitution.

brookstone vs zadro towel warmer

Brookstone holds more — 23 liters against 20 — and usually costs less. Zadro publishes more: a 480 W maximum, a four-step 15/30/45/60-minute timer, and dimensions of 21.25 inches by 12 in diameter, so it can be costed and measured before buying.

Zadro vs VEVOR towel warmer buckets

how much does a towel warmer bucket cost to run

It depends on a rated power figure, which Brookstone does not publish. Where a maker does publish one — Zadro's 480 W maximum, for example — the sum is wattage times hours divided by 1,000, times your electricity rate.
