The best widespread bathroom faucets
A widespread faucet is the classic two-handle look. Measure the holes first, because they decide the shortlist before taste does.

The short answer

Quick picks

What widespread means
A widespread faucet has three separate pieces — two handles and a spout — each through its own hole. The handles sit well apart, which is the classic look, and they are connected under the counter.
The alternative is a centerset (a single base over three holes at 4 in.) or a single-hole faucet. Hole counts and centersets are covered here.
Measure the holes first
Measure from the center of the left hole to the center of the right hole. Kohler and Moen publish 8 to 16 in. for the faucets here; Delta’s Nicoli goes down to 6 in. If your spread is outside a faucet’s range, it will not fit, however much you like it.
Reach, and why it matters
Reach is how far the spout extends toward you. Too short, and the water lands near the back of the bowl and splashes the counter. The published figures here run from 5.86 in. (Findlay) to 6.00 in. (Darcy). Compare them against the depth of your basin. Sink depths are compared here.
Flow rate: who publishes it
Kohler and Delta publish 1.2 gpm at 60 psi. Moen publishes that its faucets meet WaterSense criteria but gives no number on these product pages. That is a pattern worth knowing, and it is compared properly on the Moen versus Delta page.
Drains and valves
A metal drain (Kohler) outlasts a plastic one (Moen Darcy) in the part of the faucet that gets pushed every day. Push drains, like Delta’s and the Moen Findlay’s, have no lift rod behind the spout. On valves, Kohler publishes ceramic disc and Delta publishes a 500,000-use test.
If you rent
Every faucet here rates Owner-only on our install rating. A dripping faucet in a rental is a repair request.

1. Best overall
Devonshire Widespread Bathroom Sink Faucet, 1.2 gpm
Kohler · K-394-4 · best for a traditional two-handle sink
1.2 gpm, 5-7/8 in. reach, ceramic disc valves and a metal pop-up drain, for 8 to 16 in. centers.
The Kohler Devonshire widespread publishes every number that matters and none of them is weak. Flow is “1.2 gpm (4.5 lpm) maximum flow rate at 60 psi”, the reach is 5-7/8 in., and the valves are ceramic disc, which Kohler says “exceed industry longevity standards”.
The drain is metal — “Includes metal pop-up drain with 1-1/4″ (32 mm) tailpiece” — and the handles come preassembled on the valves with quick-connect fittings. It suits holes at 8 to 16 in. centers and carries WaterSense and Kohler’s lifetime faucet warranty.

2. Best modern
Nicoli Two Handle Widespread Bathroom Faucet
Delta · 35749LF · best for narrower hole spacing and a contemporary look
1.2 gpm, a 500,000-use valve test, a drain you unscrew from above, and it fits holes from 6 in. apart.
The Delta Nicoli widespread is the one for tighter spacing: Delta rates it for “3-hole 6-16 in. widespread installations”, two inches narrower at the minimum than the others here.
It flows at “1.2 gpm @ 60 psi”, its cartridge is tested to 500,000 uses, and the push pop-up drain “unscrews from above the deck” for cleaning. At 8-5/8 in. tall it is the highest faucet here, and it comes in six finishes including two-tone options.

3. Best reach for the money
Findlay Two-Handle Widespread Bathroom Faucet
Moen · 84517 · best for a deep or wide basin
A 5.86 in. published reach with a push-down drain and three finishes, for less than the two above it.
The Moen Findlay widespread reaches 5.86 in. over the bowl, within a tenth of an inch of the Kohler and the Darcy, which matters on a wide or deep basin where a short spout puts the water near the back edge.
It fits 8 to 16 in. centers, has a push-down drain, meets WaterSense criteria and is ADA compliant. It comes in matte black, Spot Resist brushed nickel and bronzed gold.

The one to skip
Darcy Two-Handle High Arc Bathroom Faucet
Moen · WS84551 · best for nobody who can choose one of the others
An explicitly plastic drain assembly, the longest reach here and no published flow rate.
The Moen Darcy is not a bad faucet; it is the least specified one here.
Moen publishes its drain in two lines — “Drain Assembly: Plastic” and “Drain Assembly Type: Spring Loaded Pop-Up” — where the Kohler publishes metal. It publishes a 6.00 in. reach, the longest on this page, so it is the one that suits the fewest basins. And like the Findlay, it publishes WaterSense compliance with no flow figure attached.
The hole spacing, the certifications and the warranty are the same as everything above it: three holes at “8" - 16" Center”, ADA, NSF 61 and a “limited lifetime warranty”. You simply get told less for it.

Questions people actually ask
what is a widespread bathroom faucet
A three-piece faucet — two handles and a spout, each through its own hole — with the handles set well apart. The faucets here fit holes 8 to 16 inches apart, or 6 to 16 for Delta's Nicoli.
how do i know if my sink needs a widespread faucet
Count the holes and measure between the outer two, center to center. Three holes 8 inches or more apart means widespread; three holes 4 inches apart means a centerset.
what flow rate is a widespread bathroom faucet
Kohler's Devonshire and Delta's Nicoli both publish 1.2 gallons per minute at 60 psi. Moen publishes WaterSense compliance for its widespread faucets but no flow figure on the product pages.
are widespread faucets harder to install
There are more parts to connect under the counter — two valves and a spout. Kohler preassembles the handles on the valves and uses quick-connect fittings on the Devonshire. It is still an owner's plumbing job.
