The best bathroom faucets
The biggest visual change available in a bathroom for the least demolition — provided you buy one that fits the holes you already have.
By Sawyer V. · · How we research

The short answer
We earn a commission if you buy through the links on this page, at no extra cost to you. It does not change which products we pick or what we say about them — here is exactly how that works.
Quick picks
Tap any row for the full write-up. Prices are checked against Amazon rather than remembered — where we have no verified figure the button says so.
Count the holes before anything else
This is the measurement that decides whether a faucet can be fitted at all, and it takes ten seconds.
Look at the back of your basin. You will see one hole, or three holes spaced 4 inches apart center to center (a “centerset”), or three holes spaced 8 inches apart (a “widespread”).
Every faucet on this page publishes fitting for one or three holes at 4 inch centers, with a deckplate included to cover the outer two when you use a single-hole faucet. None of them fits an 8 inch widespread basin.
If your basin is drilled for 8 inch widespread, you need a widespread faucet — three separate pieces rather than one. You cannot bridge the gap with a deckplate.
Flow rate, and who actually publishes it
Federal maximum for a bathroom faucet is 2.2 GPM. WaterSense labeling requires no more than 1.5 GPM, and California and a few other states set their own lower limits.
Delta publishes an actual figure: 1.2 GPM at 60 psi. Moen publishes WaterSense compliance on both Genta models but no number, which means you know it is at or below 1.5 and no more than that.
That difference in disclosure is worth noticing. On a basin faucet the flow rate matters less than on a shower — you are rinsing hands, not standing under it — but a maker that publishes the figure is a maker you can check.
Moen does publish compliance with AB1953 (California) and S152 (Vermont) on the Genta, which are lead-content laws rather than flow laws, and both makers publish NSF/ANSI 61 certification for drinking-water safety.
The valve is what fails
A faucet body lasts decades. The cartridge inside it does not, and a dripping faucet is almost always a worn cartridge rather than a worn faucet.
Which is why Delta publishing a valve “tested for 500,000 uses” is the most useful durability figure on this page. At twenty uses a day that is roughly 68 years, which is clearly a laboratory number rather than a promise — but it is a comparable one, and Moen publishes nothing equivalent.
Both makers publish lifetime limited warranties, and both sell replacement cartridges. Moen publishes a cartridge kit part number for the Genta, which is genuinely useful information to have before you need it.
Why this is still an owner-only job
No holes are made and nothing is cut, so a faucet swap looks more approachable than it is. All three products rate Owner-only on our install rating.
The job means shutting off both isolating valves, disconnecting the supply lines, removing the old drain assembly and linkage, working in the cabinet under the basin, and reconnecting everything without a leak. Old shut-off valves seize, old supply lines are brittle, and the drain linkage is fiddly.
More to the point, it is plumbing on the property’s water supply. If you rent, this is not yours to change — and a faucet that drips constantly is a repair your landlord owes you rather than a reason to buy a new one.
We are not going to publish a step-by-step for it. There is a difference between explaining what a specification means and telling somebody how to work on their water supply, and we stay on the explaining side of it.
The finish question
A faucet is the fitting most likely to need to match something else, and finish naming is not standardized between manufacturers.
Moen publishes chrome, matte black, brushed nickel and bronzed gold on the Genta LX, and chrome or “Spot Resist Brushed Nickel” on the Conway. Delta publishes six on the Trinsic including champagne bronze, polished nickel and Venetian bronze.
One brand’s brushed nickel is not another’s, and matte black varies more still. If you are matching a faucet to a shower head or a towel bar from a different maker, expect a visible difference rather than a match — the same problem we set out on the matte black shower head page.
Chrome is the exception. It is the closest thing to a universal finish, it hides water spots better than anything else, and it is the one safe choice when the rest of the room is already fitted.
Every pick in full
2 we would buy, and one we would not. Each carries its Renter-Safe Install Rating, the published specs behind it, and the honest gap in what we know.

1. Best overall
Trinsic Single Handle Bathroom Faucet
Delta · 559LF-MPU · best for a published flow rate and the longest-tested valve here
1.2 gpm WaterSense, a Euromotion DIAMOND valve tested for 500,000 uses, and six published finishes.
The Delta Trinsic is the pick because Delta publishes the two numbers that decide how a faucet lives.
The first is flow: “1.2 gpm @ 60 psi, 4.5 L/min @ 414 kPa”, WaterSense labeled and using “at least 20% less water than the industry standard”. Moen publishes WaterSense compliance on both Genta models but no actual flow rate, which is a real difference in disclosure.
The second is the valve. Delta publishes a “Euromotion DIAMOND™ Valve” ceramic disc cartridge tested for “500,000 uses”. The valve is the part that eventually drips, and a published cycle count is the closest this category gets to a service life.
It fits “1 or 3-hole 4 in. installations”, publishes a metal drain assembly, six finishes, NSF/ANSI 61 certification, ADA compliance and a “Lifetime Limited Warranty”.

Why: Plumbing work on the property's supplies and drain. A current model rather than a discontinued one, which matters more in this category than most.
Read from published documentation, not from fitting one. Delta — Trinsic 559LF-MPU, published 1.2 gpm, valve life, finishes and certifications. How the verdict is derived: renter-safe ratings explained.
What’s wrong with it
Delta publishes no spout reach for this model, and it was out of stock on Delta's own site at the time of writing.
What we can’t tell you
No published installation time and no published cartridge replacement interval.

2. Best finish range
Genta LX One-Handle High Arc Bathroom Faucet
Moen · 6702 · best for matching a faucet to fittings you already own
Four published finishes including matte black and bronzed gold, with a metal drain and a lifetime warranty.
The Moen Genta LX is the pick when the look is doing the work.
Moen publishes chrome, matte black, brushed nickel and bronzed gold, which is the widest practical range here for coordinating with existing fittings — and a faucet is the item most likely to need to match something.
It publishes “One Or Three Hole” fitting, noting that a “single hole mount creates a cleaner look against custom countertops”, a spout reach of 4.56″, and a metal pop-up drain with a lift rod — metal rather than the plastic drain on the cheaper Genta.
It publishes ADA compliance, NSF 61 certification and a “limited lifetime warranty”.

The one to skip
Conway One-Handle High Arc Bathroom Faucet
Moen · WS84923 · best for a landlord fit-out or a rental property refresh
The same collection with a plastic drain and two finishes — a small saving on the part most likely to annoy you.
The skip here is a close call within one family, which makes it a useful comparison.
The Conway WS84923 publishes the same WaterSense and ADA compliance, the same limited lifetime warranty, a “4″ centerset design” fitting “One Or Three Hole” sinks, and a longer spout reach at 5.13″.
Two things separate it from the LX. It publishes a plastic drain assembly with a lift rod rather than metal, and it comes in two finishes rather than four.
The drain is the reason for the skip. A pop-up drain assembly is the part of a faucet that gets used hardest, sits permanently wet and is the most common thing to fail or stick. It is also awkward to replace once the basin is installed. Paying a little more for metal at the point of installation is the better decision, because the labor to change it later dwarfs the difference.
For a rental fit-out where you are buying several and expect to replace them anyway, it is a perfectly reasonable buy.

Why: Replacing a faucet means shutting off the supplies, disconnecting and reconnecting both feeds and the drain. No holes are made, but the plumbing belongs to the property and this is not a tenant's change to make.

What’s wrong with it

What we can’t tell you

Questions people actually ask
how do i know what bathroom faucet will fit my sink
Count the holes in the back of the basin. One hole, or three at 4 inch centers, fits everything on this page — a deckplate covers the outer two. Three holes at 8 inch centers is a widespread basin and needs a widespread faucet instead.
what is a good gpm for a bathroom faucet
The federal maximum is 2.2 GPM and WaterSense labeling requires 1.5 or lower. Delta publishes 1.2 GPM at 60 psi on the Trinsic; Moen publishes WaterSense compliance on the Genta but no actual figure.
why is my bathroom faucet dripping
Almost always a worn cartridge rather than a worn faucet. Both makers here sell replacement cartridges and back the faucet with a lifetime limited warranty — Delta publishes a valve tested for 500,000 uses.
can i change a bathroom faucet in a rental
No. It is plumbing work on the property's water supply, and it rates Owner-only on our install rating even though no holes are made. A faucet that drips constantly is a repair your landlord owes you.
