The bracket and the anchor do the work
A towel bar fails at the wall, not in the middle. The brackets carry the load, and the anchors behind them carry the brackets. That is why Delta’s advice matters: plastic or lead anchors in tile, and toggle bolts in plaster or drywall where there is no wood blocking behind the wall.

No towel bar is a grab bar
None of the bars here publishes a weight capacity, and that tells you what they are for. A grab bar publishes one: Moen and Delta rate theirs at 500 lb. If someone in the house might reach for the bar to steady themselves, fit a grab bar where the towel bar would go. It holds towels too.
How high to hang it
The ADA Standards do not set a towel bar height. They do set a reach range, which they apply to coat hooks: “the high forward reach shall be 48 inches (1220 mm) maximum and the low forward reach shall be 15 inches (380 mm) minimum above the finish floor or ground”. If anyone in the home uses a wheelchair or struggles to reach up, keep the bar inside that range.
Projection and size
All four bars here are 24 in. The Trinsic stands 3-5/16 in. off the wall and the Cassidy 4-17/32 in.; Moen publishes neither figure for its bars. In a narrow bathroom, an inch less projection is an inch less to catch a hip on.
Bar, ring or warmer?
A bar dries a bath towel spread out. A ring suits a hand towel by the sink. The two are compared here. If you want the towel warm as well as dry, a towel warmer does both.

The Delta Trinsic 24 in. towel bar is the low-profile choice. It “Extends 3-5/16 in. from wall”, over an inch less than the Cassidy, on a 5/8 in. bar with 25 in. between the brackets.

The Weymouth’s page leads with a “metal mounting post for extra security”. The Vale’s lists a “stamped steel mounting bracket”. Neither publishes a weight rating, so we cannot tell you the difference in pounds, but when a maker markets one mounting as the secure one, we take the hint.
